In our 2026 annual conference, „Brain-Twisters of Social Movement Research“, we will discuss recurring questions of social movement research in a fishbowl format: Does state repression work? How do social movements die? Can movements overcome hurdles to cooperate between the Global North and South? And more… Many colleagues answered our call for answers. For any given question a few scholars will kick off the discussion. Everybody is invited to join the ensuing debate.
In the evening of day one, three colleagues will share insights from their research on the impact of artificial intelligence on social movements in a panel discussion.
You will find the program on the conference site.
Register now to join us in Berlin on October 5th and 6th.
